KEYSER, W.Va. — Abby Nelson and Ainsley McHenry-Sorber each scored four goals, leading No. 3 Northern to a 9-2 rout of Keyser on Tuesday.
Nelson’s all came in the first half, two coming off assists from McHenry-Sorber.
Kennedy Fickes and Lyla Maust assisted on Nelson’s other two scores.
Three of McHenry-Sorber’s goals were unassisted with the other coming off an assist by Nelson.
Jenna Bowser scored the other goal for the Huskies (3-1).
Suzy Cosenza scored for the Golden Tornado (2-5-1) off an assist from Dalila Riggleman.
Cosenza returned the favor, setting up Riggleman for Keyser’s second goal.
Northern led in shots 33-18 and 25-14 on goal while holding a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Maddie Mast finished with seven saves and Veda Rebuck had five for the Huskies.
Trulee Burns recorded five saves for the Tornado.
An unnamed player recorded 10 saves for Keyser whose jersey number is not on the roster.
Both teams play on Thursday.
The Golden Tornado play at No. 5 Fort Hill (2-2) at 5 p.m. while the Huskies host No. 1 Mountain Ridge (5-0) at 6 p.m.
