CRESAPTOWN – Maryland State Police are investigating an inmate death at the North Branch Correctional Institution in Cresaptown.
Jordan Polston, 32, was found unresponsive Sunday in a cell at the maximum-security prison, according to a press release from state police.
Polston, a state prison inmate serving time at the prison, was declared dead by emergency medical personnel that responded to the incident.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause of death.
Polston was serving a 20-prison sentence with all but four years suspended for possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute, according to a Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services spokesperson.
