A year ago, Andover and Central Catholic were the top teams in the Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 league standings, and both had outstanding freshmen leading them to 18-2 and 11-3 overall records.
Andover’s Ishwa Dharan’s talents exploded all over the courts as she finished 19-1 overall, including an 11-0 mark at No. 2 singles. She is a returning All-Conference and Eagle-Tribune All-Star, as is teammate Celeste Miner, who last year was part of a very successful doubles team. She should be in the mix for a singles’ spot this season.
Central Catholic was led by Haley Wolters, who was 7-4 at the No. 1 spot a year ago. She is once again back as one of the top players in the league.
Methuen, which finished 15-4 overall, has been moved to MVC D1 and returns Jillian McSweeney and Ella Duffy, among others.
