NEWBURYPORT — Museum of Old Newbury will welcome the public to the 1808 Cushing House, a National Historic Landmark, in all its holiday finery on Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Guests will enjoy exquisite decorations, festive music, and the company of friends and neighbors for two days of walk-through tours.
The grand 1808 Cushing House highlight the talents of area garden clubs and decorators including volunteers from the Newburyport Garden Club, Newburyport Horticultural Society, Newbury Garden Club, and West Newbury Garden Club.
On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and again on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., traditional music group O’Carolan will perform music that would have been familiar to the earliest residents of this house.

Author and historian Ghlee Woodworth will be selling and signing her books, “Tiptoe Through the Tombstones and Clipper Heritage Trail, Volume I and Volume II,” throughout the weekend. Museum of Old Newbury hats, books, tote bags, and copies of signed books by Bethany Groff Dorau, “Brief History of Old Newbury and A Newburyport Marine,” will also be available.
Founded in 1877, the museum carries out its mission through the preservation and administration of the Cushing House, the Perkins Engraving Plant, and other historic structures on its High Street campus and furthers its purpose through lectures, exhibitions, educational programs, publications, and research.
