CUMBERLAND — Kealana Pua’auli garnered a triple double, and Mountain Ridge outlasted Allegany in a five-set thriller on Tuesday night.
The Miners (1-0) won the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19 before the Campers (0-2) rallied to win the next two 27-25 and 28-26 to force a tiebreaker fifth set. Mountain Ridge took the decider 15-10 to take the match.
Pua’auli led Mountain Ridge with 23 digs, 20 service points, 16 kills, three assists, one ace and one block, Anne Baker added 29 service points, four aces and four digs, and Mckenna Conway garnered 18 assists, nine kills, five blocks, two digs and two points.
For Allegany, Ava Strother had 10 assists and five digs, Leilani Morgret had seven kills, one dig and four blocks, and Chloe Deblock had 13 digs, four kills and two aces.
Allegany won the junior varsity match 25-6, 25-21.
Leading the way for Allegany were Julia Imes with five assists, two digs and a kill, Rylee Shafer had three digs, five aces and a kill, and Savannah Dalton had four assists, a kill and four aces.
Kate Fogle led Mountain Ridge’s JVs with eight service points, and Lainey Clark had seven.
Mountain Ridge hosts Frankfort (5-1) on Thursday at 7 p.m. Allegany welcomes Northern (1-0) on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
