Meridian Police Department announced four recent arrests Monday in connection with homicide investigations and other felony offenses.
In a news release, MPD said investigators on Sept. 13 charged Tina Ramirez with the shooting death of Crystal Edwin in the 800 block of 30th Avenue at approximately 10 p.m. on Sept. 4. Edwin was initially taken to a local hospital for treatment and later died of her injuries.
Bond for Ramirez was set at $1 million.
In a separate homicide investigation, officers charged Tyler Matthews with murder on Sept. 16 in the death of Marquel Holcombe on Aug. 12. Holcombe was shot near the intersection of Paulding Street and 40th Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
Matthews’ bond was also set at $1 million.
MPD also announced the arrests of Antonio Ball on Sept. 12 and Christopher Olsen on Monday. Ball is charged with felon in possession of firearm and had a bond set at $5,000.
Olsen is charged with felony fleeing and motor vehicle theft after he allegedly stole a patrol car in the 100 block of Highway 11/80 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Monday. According to the release, Olsen then led officers on a pursuit before he was eventually caught.
Bond for Olsen was set at $100,000.
