HANCOCK — Blaire Ray went the distance for Hancock, leading the Panthers to a 3-1 win over Mountain Ridge on Thursday.
Ray allowed five hits, one run and a walk with 10 strikeouts.
Bryson Krumpach took the loss in five innings for the Miners (2-4), allowing eight hits, two earned runs and two walks with six strikeouts.
Mountain Ridge hosts No. 1 Frankfort (5-2) on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Heritage 5, Calvary 2
HAGERSTOWN — Heritage held Calvary to one hit in a win on Thursday.
“Our guys played with greater confidence tonight,” Calvary head coach Don Swogger said. “We still need to shake the nerves at the plate.”
Sammy Scritchfield hit a double in the top of the first for the lone Eagles (1-4) hit.
Calvary’s other baserunners came after drawing four walks.
Easton Wagner took the loss in five frames, allowing six hits, four runs and three walks with four strikeouts.
Ryan Hollinger got the win in four shutout innings of relief, allowing no hits or walks with three strikeouts.
Titus Britner hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning for Heritage.
The Eagles host Hancock on Friday followed by Grace on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
Strasburg 11, Moorefield 1
STRASBURG, Va. — Strasburg led 9-1 after five innings and sealed the win with two more in the sixth, defeating Moorefield in six innings on Thursday.
The Rams held the Yellow Jackets (1-5) to two hits and three walks.
Three pitchers combined to allow nine hits, eight earned runs and three walks for Moorefield.
The Yellow Jackets head to Philip Barbour on Saturday at noon.
