AMHERT, Mass. — Mountain Ridge graduate and UMass offensive lineman Peyton Miller is one of the players featured in the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game.
The game marks the first new college football video game featuring NCAA teams since NCAA Football 14 was released in 2013.
This year’s game is the first to include real players.
Before name, image and likeness (NIL) was adopted in 2021, players could not receive money for the use of their name, image or likeness, so previous games used generated players.
Players had the option to appear in the game, and over 11,000 agreed.
Those who opted in received $600 and a copy of the game in exchange for allowing EA Sports, the developer of the game to include them.
Miller is entering his second season at UMass after redshirting last fall.
He chose the Minutemen over offers from Maryland, Towson and Bryant.
At Mountain Ridge, Miller was key in the Miners’ back-to-back trips to the Class 1A title game.
He was the area’s Lineman of the Year in 2022 and a two-time All-Area selection.
