The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and an a car in Pendleton Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m. at the intersection of Lockport and Wheatfield-Pendleton Townline roads. A preliminary investigation determined the motorcyle was heading east on Lockport Road and came upon a pickup truck stopped to make a left turn onto DIller Road. The motorcycle attempted to pass the stopped pickup on the right as a 2021 Audi, traveling west on Lockport Road was making a left turn onto Townline Road. The motorcycle collided with the Audi in the southeast corner of the intersection.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and two passengers in the Audi were taken to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit, with assistance from the Niagara Falls Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit.
