MANKATO — The Mankato MoonDogs took the first of three playoff games against St. Cloud Rox with a 2-1 extra inning victory at ISG Field in front of about 500 fans Sunday.
Both teams scored in the third inning while the MoonDogs finally scored in the bottom of the 10th to win the game.
Caleb Koskie and Adrian Beltre Jr. had RBIs for the MoonDogs with Koskie also pitching 6 2/3 innings and getting 10 strike outs. Landon Dodge got the win finishing the final two innings.
MoonDogs pitchers limited the Rox to two hits while MoonDog batters tallied six hits, with Josey Williamson getting three of those.
Ryan Beaird took the loss for the Rox. The teams will play again in St. Cloud at 6:35 p.m. Monday, and if a game three is needed, it will also be in St. Cloud.
