Beverly 50, Danvers 22: Wins from all eight spots in the lineup enabled the Panthers to improve to 7-1. Those victories came from Will Ryan (6.5 to 2.5), Ryan Barror (7.5 to 1.5), Lucas Carbone (5.5 to 3.5), Thomas Simeone (5.5 to 3.5), Drew Murphy (5.5 to 3.5), Henry Robinson (5-4), Jonah Bellew (7-2) and Nate Wheeler (6.5 to 2.5).
Peabody 49, Lynn Classical 23: The Tanners swept all eight matches to prevail as Nate Palhares, Joe Keka, Anthony Modugno, Andrew Pinto, Miguel Torres, Noah Crocker, Jayden Cunningham, and Jason Houlden were all individual winners.
St. John’s Prep 214, Malden Catholic 254: Junior Jack Carew fired a 34 at Mt. Hood, lowering his season scoring average to 36.2, as the Eagles rolled. Sophomore AJ Bodnar and senior Brian Loughlin both carded 35s for St. John’s Prep (now 6-1), with sophomore Seamus O’Holleran checking in at 36. Junior Jack Moriarty and sophomore Zach Enners both finished with 37s to wrap up their team’s impressive afternoon on the links.
Bishop Fenwick 43.5, Salem 28.5: AJ Alessi and Maddox Dion had individual wins for the Witches, who also got strong play from Barbara Rowley, Alyson Gill, and Chris Hanson.
FIELD HOCKEY
Peabody 4, Haverhill 0: Peabody captains Kate Bresnahan, Daniella White (2) and Amelia DiBattista accounted for all of the goals to give the Tanners their first win of the season. Sophomore goalie Sophia Kassis stopped all five shots she saw for the shutout. Assists went to Chris Troncoso and Elizabeth Moore.
Pingree 6, Lexington Christian 0: Alexa Blaeser exploded for a hat trick with one assist and goaltender Piper Davekos (4 saves) turned in her second shutout of the season, guiding the Highlanders (2-4) to victory. Sara Graves added a pair of goals for the winners while Eliza Payne also tallied.
Essex Tech 4, Triton 0: Senior Samantha McClure scored twice and goalie sophomore Francesca Roper turned away all five shots that ventured her way for her first career win and shutout, giving the Hawks (2-3-1) their second win of the season. Alice Stansfield and Ella Tucker had the other goals for Essex Tech, with assists coming from Gyovanna Barrows and Makena Chase, respectively. Katelynn Lovasco also had an excellent game for the winners.
North Andover 2, Ipswich 1: Freshman Ava Poire scored her fourth goal of the season, assisted from junior Ava Croce, as the Tigers (3-3-2) played well in a non-league contest. Junior captain Abbie Allen was once again strong in net, finishing with 15 saves.
Manchester Essex 6, Hamilton-Wenham 0: The powerful Hornets dispatched of the visiting Generals, dropping them to 3-2-2 on the year. Ava Baughn finished with six saves and teammates Rowen Sheckells, Emma Ryan, and Annie Soleimani each turned in excellent performances.
BOYS SOCCER
Masconomet 2, Lynnfield 0: Jack Fielder scored both goals, assisted both time by Elias Cantor, to keep the Chieftains rolling in a non-league win. Cabrialle Russo starred in net for the shutout, with midfielders Connor Buser and Tennant Bryson also excelling for Masconomet.
Swampscott 5, Lynn Tech 0: The Big Blue rolled on their home turf behind tallies from Nico Croft, Costa Shub, Milad Sassin, Matt Pitmanand George Spellios (who also had two assists).
North Andover 1, Beverly 0: The Panthers lost an intense non-league battle on the road.
Covenant Christian 4, BUA 0: Center back and captain Jacob Libby scored a hat trick, with Isaac Portugal assisting on two of those, in the CCA victory. Sophomore Ethan Velasquez added a goal off a penalty kick for the winners.
GIRLS SOCCER
Beverly 4, Bishop Fenwick 0: Gia Pasquarelli scored twice with one assist while Grace Galbreath and Addie Abell also had goals for the Panthers (4-2-3). Sophomore Goalkeeper Clara Kostro made three saves for the Orange-and-Black, who also got excellent efforts from defenders Sami Fogarty and Sasha Miller and midfielder Gen Bilotti, who created several opportunities.
Valentine Gregory, defender Riley Maynard, and midfielders Annie Swanson and Reese Spurchise all had strong games for the Crusaders.
Marblehead 1, St. Mary’s Lynn 0: The first career goal from freshman Lucy McDonald proved to be the game-winner for the Magicians. She scored off a header from a free kick via Ainsley McDonald in the first half. Goalkeeper Hailiey Gilmore made several crucial saves in the second half to preserve the clean sheet.
Salem 4, Malden 1: Sam Agno netted a hat trick and sister Sydney Agno scored the other goal to help the Witches (2-4) snare a non-league triumph. Jackie Fritz had a great game up top for Salem and keepers Kate Heppner and Alyssa Edwards both played well.
Danvers 3, Swampscott 0: Captain Georgia Prouty, Maddie Hanas and Lila Doucette handled the scoring duties and the Falcons improved to 6-1. Ashley Freitas had a fantastic game at midfield for Danvers and Maddie Dembowski (3 saves) posted another shutout. Assists went to Sabina Sturgeon, Brooke Wynott, Claudia Drakos, Gianna Sutherland and Prouty.
VOLLEYBALL
Ipswich 3, Georgetown 0: Captain Claire Buletza finished the night with 10 kills, seven digs and six serving aces to power the Tigers to yet another win. Alex Marino had a team-best 16 assists for Ipswich while Avery Brown contributed a block in her team’s 25-12, 25-17, 25-13 road triumph.
Bishop Fenwick 3, Peabody 2: Sienna Mancinelli and Kylie Murphy each had 10 kills while Caitlin Boyle blocked 10 shots as the Crusaders took an early lead, saw the hosts tie it up, then rebound and prevail in five sets, 27-25, 25-23, 16-25, 21-25, 15-13. Emme Lubas (22) and Teagan Davenport (18) combined for 40 assists for Fenwick, which also received 30 digs from Gwen Schroeder.
Dennis-Yarmouth 3, Danvers 1: The Falcons fell to one of the state’s top programs down on Cape Cod. Senior Sophia DiPaolo finished with a dozen digs for Danvers, which also got seven digs and 19 assists from fellow senior Audrey Lapine. Sophomore Gabby Linderman added six kills.
Greater Lawrence 3, Hamilton-Wenham 2: Senior middie Abby Cook had a great night with 12 kills, 3 1/2 blocks and three aces in a tight 15-25, 25-22, 25-22, 12-25, 10-15 non-league setback. Sophomore Abby Norris contributed 14 digs for the Generals, who also got 32 assists, four digs and a pair of aces from senior Maisie Leland.
