Wednesday brings a Miracle in North Tonawanda to benefit Twin Cities Community Outreach, home of the NT InterChurch Food pantry, according to Niagara County Legislators Rich Andres, Randy Bradt and Jesse Gooch, who are spearheading the effort.
The Riviera Theatre will host a free public screening of the Christmas classic “Miracle on 34th Street” with all those attending encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the event. There will also be a special hot chocolate bar set up, with all proceeds going to Twin Cities Community Outreach.
In addition, many restaurants across North Tonawanda have agreed to donate 10% of their sales Wednesday to Twin Cities in support of the food bank. Each restaurant will also have contribution envelopes on their tables for patrons who would like to make an additional donation.
“What better way to get into the spirit of Christmas than enjoying dinner at any of the fabulous establishments in North Tonawanda, followed by watching one of the greatest holiday films ever made in A Miracle on 34th Street on the big screen at the Riviera,” said Legislator Andres. “At the same time, you will be assisting Twin Cities Community Outreach in providing food, clothing and holiday goodwill to people in our community who are in need.”
The Riviera Theatre is located at 67 Webster St. in North Tonawanda. The food drive will run from 5 to 7 p.m. with volunteers on hand to help unload cars. The screening of “Miracle on 34th Street” will begin at 7 p.m.
