The Fairfield Glade Community Gardens Committee and Wildwood Stables managers gathered at Wildwood Stables on Oct. 5 to bid farewell to long-term leader and gardener Gerry Miller.
Over the past 18 years, Miller has provided leadership and long hours of work to cultivate a model community garden for the residents of Fairfield Glade.
Over the course of those years, the number of gardeners has more than doubled, an all-volunteer garden management committee was established, and countless infrastructure additions have been made for the betterment of the gardens.
Even though Miller has given up the hoe, he is still a valued friend of the gardens and is wished well.
The Fairfield Glade Community Gardens are on Westchester Rd., across from Wildwood Stables.
