METHUEN — Methuen High will be honoring some of its best when it comes to Rangers athletics on Friday, May 1 (6 p.m.) at Salvatore’s in Lawrence.
There are some big names that have made a difference and their place in the school’s history.
The Methuen High Hall of Fame Committee met in January and selected the 2026 Hall of Fame Class for the Searles/Tenney/Methuen High.
They will be honoring 10 former athletes, one team and four distinguished alumni.
“We are proud and very excited about this announcement,” said Methuen High’s first-year athletic director Tom Ryan. “The people we have chosen to honor have really played a key role in our successes over the years and really decades.”
The 1972 Rangers baseball team, which finished 22-2, en route to a MVC championship was led by captain Tim Napolitano.
The eldest is Alan Stondak (1963), a three-sport star and winner of the prestigious Andrew Haldane Trophy. His impact also included decades of coaching, officiating and umpiring in the region.
Six women will be inducted including Beth Childs (1979), Julie Ciarcia Ryan (1987), Erin Stewart (1996), Rashidat Agboola Onuorah (2010), Amanda Conway (2015), Kathleen “Kat” LeFebre (2016) and Lynn Turchi (1967).
There will be a special father-son induction with Bill Pare (1971) and son Ben Pare (2010).
Former stars Derrick Marsan (2003) and Cal Carroll (2011) will be joined by “Distinguished Alumnus” Adam Aliano (2005).
Karen Broscoe is noted as a “Special Contributor” while Paul Trussell as the Arthur Nicholson III “True Blue Award” winner.
