Cumberland County Young Marines and Girl Scout Troop 2801 presided at Fairfield Glade’s annual Memorial Day ceremony — possibly the last at The Center — attended by area veterans and residents.
Abby Julian, Fairfield Glade Community Club center and events manager, told the assembled crowd she anticipates next year’s ceremony to take place at the Veterans and First Responders Memorial now under construction at Robin Hood Park.
While it wasn’t raining during the ceremony, the skies held the threat, so the majority of the ceremony took place inside The Center, with the Young Marines conducting the raising and lowering of the flag to half staff at the flagpole outside.
