NEWBURYPORT – Maudslay Arts Center’s Summer Concert Series will kick off its 32nd season July 12.
The concert series will feature a number of different musical styles including bluegrass, jazz, funk and more.
This season will be dedicated to Nicholas J. Costello, following his passing in mid-March.
“Maudslay Arts Center was a passion project for my Dad,” Nicholas C. Costello, MAC Director said. “MAC combined three loves: his devotion to his community, his love of the arts and commitment to preserving our natural resources,”.
To start the season, Jorgan Trio+1, a local quartet, will play on July 12. The quartet made up of Henley Douglas Jr., Jordan Gravel, Patrick Gaulin and Christopher Brown will perform with special guest Garrett Savluk on Saturday.
Saturday concerts will begin at 7 p.m. starting with the Jorgan Trio+1 followed by New Black Eagle Jazz Band on July 19, The Don Campbell Band on July 26, Mike Monaghan on Aug. 9, and The Ruta Beggars on Aug. 16.
Gates open at 6 p.m., with patio seating going for $35 and lawn seating for $30. Children ages 12 and under are able to attend for free.
On July 13, jazz singer Donna Byrne will perform at 2 p.m. Byrne has performed internationally opening for Bob Newhart, Lou Rawls, and was invited to open for Tony Bennett on his national tour.
Following Byrne, performances will include The Love Dogs on July 20, Amanda Carr on July 27, Bobby Keyes on Aug. 10, and Hillyer Festival Orchestra on Aug. 17.
Gates for the Sunday afternoon performances will open at 1 p.m. with general admission priced at $25. Similarly to the Saturday performances, children ages 12 and under are able to attend for free.
“Summer is just a brief season here in New England,” Costello said, “so come out and enjoy wonderful music at affordable prices in a spectacular natural setting,”.

The performances do not offer reserved seating, but large parties can be accommodated with advance notice.
