CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Theatre announces the guest artist during the production of “Sideways” will be Marcy Brack from June 6-23.
Brack moved to Cumberland eight years ago after retiring from a 35-year career of nursing in Denver. She immersed herself in art, taking numerous classes locally and online.
“I am eternally grateful of the wonderful and supportive art community I found here. My artwork is mostly of landscapes and objects, inspired from my travels locally and around the world. I work in a variety of mediums, including pastels, oil pastels, watercolor, colored pencil and collage,” Brack said.
Brack is known for her many hours volunteering at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, including tours of the Tiffany stained glass and tunnels, and she serves as the vice president of Gilchrist Museum and is responsible for the docent program. She also volunteered for Mountainside Baroque, taught yoga for many years and plays flute in the Allegany Community Orchestra.
Artwork in the Beverly Walker Lobby For The Arts at the Cumberland Theatre can be visited Thursday through Saturday for 8 p.m. shows and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Brack will participate in the October Artist Studio Tour when her artwork will be displayed at the Gilchrist gallery over the weekends of Oct. 12 and 19.
The Cumberland Theatre is located at 101 N. Johnson St. and the exhibition is free and open to the public an hour before each performance. Tickets for the play can be obtained at www.cumberlandtheatre.com or 301-759-4990.
