After posting a league-leading nine shutout and then helping carry his team to a double overtime playoff victory, Marblehead goalkeeper Rory Zampese has been voted Northeastern Conference boys soccer Player of the Year.
Zampese kept the sheet clean and directed a tremendous defense for the Magicians and was rewarded for his excellence when the NEC’s coaches met to determine this year’s postseason awards last week.
Joining Zampese on the NEC All-Conference squad was teammate Miles Fontela-Tuttle.
Beverly, which won the Dunn division title for the first time in a generation, had Owen Perry, Connor Connolly and Daniel Silva selected to the All-Conference squad while Edgard De Leon was voted NEC Coach of the Year.
Masconomet scoring leader Jack Fielder was also a first-team pick along with fellow Chieftain Aidan Colleran.
Max Arrendondo was picked All-NEC from the Lynch division champs from Swampscott. Wesdra Silva earned an All-NEC nod out of Gloucetser while Danvers was represented by Gianluca Locilento, Peabody’s All-NEC choice was Kacper Kowalczyk and Salem’s Ian Souza earned a first-team nod.
