ALBERT LEA — A Mankato woman was among two people who suffered life-threatening injuries in a wrong-way crash involving three vehicles Saturday evening on Interstate 35 near Albert Lea.
Tabatha Ann Caballero, 30, of Mankato, was a passenger in the 1999 Ford Explorer that Anthony Lee Graham, 25, of Austin, was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-35 at 7:12 p.m. when the SUV crashed with the 2025 Honda compact SUV Angela Lea Johnson, 54, of Medina, was driving north on the interstate, the State Patrol said.
Caballero and Johnson’s life-threatening injuries are being treated at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, the patrol reported.
Graham — and Johnson’s passenger, Jeffrey James Johnson, 55, of Medina — were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
The driver of a northbound 1997 Chevy GMT-400 pickup, Harold Gene Boverhuis, 85, of Brownsdale, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash when the compact SUV and the pickup collided. He also was treated at the hospital in Albert Lea.
Road conditions were dry and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the patrol said.
