Allegany senior Chris Manherz was voted Western Maryland Athletic Conference Player of the Year at a meeting of the league’s head coaches.
The Allegany guard averaged 23.5 points per game and made 55 3-pointers, helping lift the Campers to the Class 1A West Region I championship and their first trip to the state tournament since 2017.
Fort Hill won the WestMAC title for the fourth consecutive season with a 7-1 record, followed in the standings by Southern (6-2), Allegany (4-4), Mountain Ridge (3-5) and Northern (0-8).
Southern leads the way with two first-team All-WestMAC selections in Jacob Brown and Graham Harvey. The duo is joined by Fort Hill’s Liam Hamilton, Mountain Ridge’s Cam Breighner and Northern’s Jayden McNally.
The second team comprises Allegany’s Landon Holliday and Owen Rice, Fort Hill’s Jameson Powell-Morris, Northern’s Caleb Hinebaugh and Southern’s Braden Lucas.
Mountain Ridge’s John Delaney and Southern’s Alec Van Scheetz are honorable mentions.
