A Cumberland County man wanted on multiple warrants, including three violation of community supervision charges, attempted to avoid arrest Thursday.
His flight for freedom was ended when he was chased and taken into custody without further incident.
Charles Christopher White, 52, Pioneer Loop, in addition to the three community supervision violations, was also wanted on a warrant charging him with hindering a secured creditor.
The local Tennessee Department of Correction Board of Pardons and Parole Office reported to Cumberland County Sheriff’s Offi e shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday White was wanted on the warrants and his GPS monitoring device showed him in the area of the 100 block of Mecca Drive, according to Deputy Devyne Templeton’s report.
Deputies converged onto the scene and found a man running into the woods behind a residence at the address. A search continued until the man was spotted “sneaking through the backyard of the residence toward the house.”
White was taken into custody and jailed at the Justice Center, where he is being held under a total bond of $35,000 awaiting an appearance in General Sessions Court.
