MARBLEHEAD — A man who appeared to be working for a local landscaping company was taken into custody by federal agents Friday morning.
A reporter who was passing by the scene on Beach Street around 8:10 a.m. saw agents taking the man into custody next to a truck with the logo “Lassana’s Landscaping” on it.
One of the agents wore an FBI vest, but the rest were not wearing identifiable symbols of a specific agency. At least four unmarked vehicles surrounded the truck during the incident.
The agents were seen heading toward The Neck in Marblehead a half-hour later.
A Marblehead Police Department employee told The Salem News that Marblehead police Chief Dennis King does not speak to the media directly when a reporter asked to be connected to his line for comment.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) did not immediately return a request for comment.
No further information was immediately available.
