A 50-year-old man was killed Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle while in the roadway on Niagara Falls Boulevard, according to Niagara Falls police.
The collision occurred on the 8100 block of the Boulevard about 9:30 p.m. A 2016 Jeep driven by an 18-year-old female from the Town of Niagara was heading west on the Boulevard when it struck a 50-year-old man in the roadway. The man was thrown forward and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
A portion of Niagara Falls Boulevard was closed for approximately 3 hours while the scene was surveyed. The driver of the Jeep, who claimed no injuries, remained on scene and cooperated in the investigation.

It was the second serious accident involving a pedestrian and a car on Niagara Falls Boulevard in a week.
A pedestrian was struck about 10:30 p.m. Saturday near the Williams Road intersection. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, then flown to Erie County Medical Center, where they continue to recover.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit is investigating that accident.
