CRESAPTOWN — A Pennsylvania man was arrested Thursday on charges of disturbing school operations and disorderly conduct after an incident at Cresaptown Elementary School.
The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office said Zachary John Prettyman, 40, of Glenolden, approached the school playground area around 1 p.m. as students and staff were outside and began yelling.
The sheriff’s office said the school safety employee assigned to the building attempted to contact Prettyman, but he fled on foot.
“During the incident, school staff acted quickly to ensure the safety of students on the playground,” the sheriff’s office said. “The school was placed into a secure status, and students were safely brought inside the building. At no time did the individual make direct contact with students or staff.”
