Man charged with child abuse, assault

CUMBERLAND — A city man was jailed on $5,000 bond Sunday following his arrest on child abuse and assault charges, according to Cumberland Police.
Richard Franklin Crowe Sr., 65, was charged with second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault in connection with the incident that occurred abut 6 p.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Grand Avenue, police said.
Police said the incident occurred during an apparent argument.
