Instead of operating dozers and shaping golf holes, we have him doing more delicate jobs like moving cup locations, servicing tee areas, and, on rare occasions, mowing tees and fairways. When not at Heatherhurst, Dan enjoys playing golf, camping, and being a man of faith. Dan enjoys serving the community and preaching. We enjoy having Dan at Heatherhurst andlook forward to the next five years. Congratulations!”

March:
BARBARA CAMPBELL, 20 YEARS
Central tee times
“If you want to know anything about the history of the Glade and Central Tee Times, Barbara Campbell is your gal. She has been with Central Tee Times for 20 years. She can remember almost anything. Barbara has a wealth of knowledge about what used to be or what has changed regarding making tee times and golf course updates. When Wyndham was in operation, she often welcomed back returning guests when they’d call in to make tee times a year later. Barbara is a superb asset to Central Tee Times. She knows her stuff and goes above and beyond to help the customer. She not only makes tee times but can give them dining advice, a weather report, and course recommendations based on the customer’s needs. We can’t ask for a better employee. The last two people to “retire” from CTT spent 25 and 32 years in the office. We should expect at least another five years from her. Thanks for all your hard work. Congratulations!”
— Dawn Griffin, manager
WILLIAM TAYLOR, 15 YEARS
Director of recreation
“William Taylor joined Fairfield Glade Community Club in March 2011, marking 15 years with us. While I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside William over the past two years, it’s clear his impact here extends well beyond that time. Since December 2017, he has served as Director of Racquet Sports, where he led the continued growth and success of our racquet programs and facilities. He is now also leading the Racquet Center Expansion Project, helping to ensure our facilities remain top of the line and continue to meet the evolving needs of our members. Today, as Director of Recreation, William brings that same leadership and commitment across our recreational amenities. He leads by example, steps in wherever needed, and consistently delivers a high-quality experience for our community. We’re fortunate to have him on our senior management team. I appreciate everything he has contributed over the past 15 years and look forward to many more. Please join me in congratulating William on this milestone and thanking him for his continued dedication to FGCC.”

STEVE WALLACE, 10 YEARS
Stonehenge golf maintenance
“Steve Wallace has been around for 10 years. During his tenure, he has arguably done every task possible—from walk mowing greens and tees to mowing fairways and intermediate roughs. He has experienced and perfected many jobs and is often called upon to help train new employees. He enjoys golf, and plays at least once per week in his league, but oftentimes even more. I appreciate his work and dedication to Stonehenge, but I also enjoy our non-work-related conversations. When you have been around as long as Steve, you are no longer just an employee, you are part of the Stonehenge family. Congratulations on 10 years, and we look forward to many more.”

In addition to working in the golf division, Ron plays in 3 leagues.

Roller skating is an important part of Ron’s life. He has three daughters, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He will celebrate his 80th birthday in

“Dennis Haveman spent his career in the golf industry as a golf course superintendent, working in Texas, Arizona, and Nevada before retiring to Fairfield Glade. It did not take Dennis long to find his way to a part-time equipment operator position in golf maintenance. Dennis brings a great work ethic and sense of humor that we appreciate. “Ken has been here for five years and has adapted to this work incredibly well. Coming from a like-minded background, he fit in instantly. Like many of our part-time team, Ken has the ability to operate anything and everything. He also assists with irrigation in the summer months. The coolest thing about Ken is that he is a true motorcycle enthusiast. Although the distance traveled is often very short, he rides his motorcycle daily. LAVELL HARRIS, 5 YEARS
Racquet center manager
“Lavell Harris is celebrating five years at the Racquet Center. A familiar face to all our members, Lavell is always quick to help wherever he can and brings a wealth of knowledge in all things racquet-related. In his spare time, he volunteers with the Adaptive Tennis group in Cookeville, plays competitive USTA tournaments, and even helps coach some of our local tennis talent.
It goes without saying, he is the quintessential Racquet Sports Attendant and a true team player. While this marks Lavell’s 5th anniversary, it also marks his retirement. The Racquet Center employees, members, and guests will certainly miss his quick wit and extensive knowledge of all the happenings here. We wish him all the best in his retirement!”

“When you come into Heatherhurst’s Pro Shop, George is there waiting to make you feel welcome. He makes it a point to talk to every customer and let them know we’re happy they’re here. Not only is he great with customers, but he also helps us in the pro shop by keeping all the merchandise stocked.
Occasionally, he likes to try to sell hole-in-one hats to help us out—we appreciate his efforts. George is also an avid golfer, and you can often see him during the week playing different golf courses. Congratulations, George, on 5 years—we look forward to many more.”
