TRAVERSE CITY — Hip-hop star Ludacris canceled his performance scheduled for closing night of the National Cherry Festival.
The artist’s management team said “an unforeseen scheduling conflict” derailed the July 11 concert and that ticket-holders would receive emails with “next steps” according to a Cherry Fest statement Friday evening. Tickets purchased will be automatically refunded, the statement added.
“We understand this news will be disappointing to many fans. The National Cherry Festival Board and staff share in that disappointment, as we were looking forward to welcoming Ludacris to Traverse City as part of our 100th Festival celebration,” the statement said.
Festival organizers are “evaluating options,” given the unexpected situation, it said.
