PLATTSBURGH — Randy Lozier has taken office as Clinton County’s newest treasurer.
Lozier, a Democrat, was previously the tax collector and town clerk for the Town of Beekmantown.
He previously said when he was running that the uncertainty of tax revenue Clinton County relies heavily upon and the increase in taxes for the county’s upper-aged citizens were two of the most pressing issues that he hoped to address.
Lozier is now succeeding Democrat Kimberly Davis, who resigned in 2024 to move into the private sector. Deputy Treasurer Becky Murphy has been running the treasurer’s office since.
He was sworn in during a ceremony at the Clinton County Government Center today.
“One, thanks so much for the residents of Clinton County for entrusting in me to be the next treasurer,” he told the crowd.
“And number two, if you don’t think that we hit the ground running, upstairs, I went into my office real quick, and I was already served papers. Thank you so much for the residents, and thank you so much for everyone being here today.”
