Medic Regional Blood Center has a number of incentives to reward blood donors for their time and donation.
“March donations tend to be lower due to spring breaks and irregular schedules,” said Kristy Altman, Medic’s vice president of communications and public relations.
Promotions include a Medic orange T-shirt for all donors through the end of March, a $25 e-gift card for new donors through March 13, a special-edition St. Patrick’s Day T-shirt for donors who give blood March 17, and automatic entry for PBR Rodeo tickets for donors who give March 23-29.
Medic’s Crossville donor center is at 96 Hayes St.
Appointments can be made online at www.medicblood.org, via the MEDIC app, or by calling 865-524-3074.
Walk-ins are welcome.
Altman said donors can now go to www.medicpass.org to complete the questionnaire before they arrive.
Medic is the primary blood product provider for Cumberland Medical Center and 24 additional hospitals and air medical transport services across 23 counties. Medic services Covenant Health System, Blount Memorial, Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital, Tennova Healthcare, and UT Medical Center.
“As a reminder, the blood, platelets, and plasma products on the shelves now are what would be used in a trauma event,” Altman said. “Donated blood takes at least three days to be processed and ready for distribution.”
Medic is an independent, nonprofit organization. Products donated through Medic directly help community members in East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky.
