Local first responders were summoned to a fire at an auto body shop on the 6100 block of South Transit Road early Thursday.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office fielded a 911 call about a structure fire at 6172 South Transit Road, the site of Skal-Coll Collision, at 5:56 a.m. Arriving sheriff’s deputies found smoke coming from the building and made entry to try to find the source of the fire. Wendelville Volunteer Fire Company and numerous mutual aid companies responded and quickly extinguished the fire, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported, as the business was unoccupied at the time.
The cause is being investigated by the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit.
