BOYS HOCKEY
Peabody 8, Rockport 1: In a late game on Monday evening, Ben Ranier scored this team’s lone goal off assists from Ryan Meaney and Matt Coughlin. Goalie Luke Holmes once again did his best to keep his team in it, making a whopping 51 saves on 59 shots.
“It’s been a trying season but the team has grown and matured over the course of it,” said Rockport coach Garrett Stevens. “We’ve had stellar goaltending through, Ryan Meaney has quietly put together the strongest offensive season in recent years for the program, Ben Ranier has had an offensive ‘coming out’ part, and we’ve been able to play a ton of younger players in key positions that, as much as the growing pains have been just that this year, will benefit their development immensely heading into the offseason and next year.”
