Danville’s Anna Houpt was able to finish her career as one of the top girls tennis players in the state on Saturday.
Houpt finished in the top eight in state after losing in the consolation semifinals to Courtney Croll of Lake Forest Woodlands Academy 6-2, 6-0.
With the finish, Houpt ended up being in the All-State team for all four years of her career.

Mahomet-Seymour 1, Danville 0
CHAMPAIGN — Before Saturday’s IHSA Class 2A regional championship, Danville boys soccer coach Ron Sillings said that their game with Mahomet-Seymour would be close.
The final score for the game would be 1-0, but it was the Bulldogs that were able to get that close win.
The Vikings end the season with a 12-12-4 record, the first time they reached over 10 wins since the 2016 season.
Colin Jackson scored the lone goal for M-S, who will play Normal West on Wednesday at Washington.

Westville 52, Iroquois West 13
WESTVILLE — The Tigers scored 42 points in the first quarter to easily clinch an undefeated regular season and the Vermilion Valley Conference Championship.
The Tigers are 9-0 and will host Shelbyville in the first round of the IHSA Class 2A playoffs at 2 p.m.
Clifton Central 49, Salt Fork 30
CATLIN — The Storm struck first, but could not keep up with the Comets in the regular season finale.
Zayden Bromley ran for 154 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 184 yards and another score for Salt Fork, who are 5-4 and will start playoff action on Saturday against 8-1 Dupo at 1 p.m.
Momence 29, GRFC 20
GEORGETOWN — Landon Heck passed for 206 yards and a touchdown, but the Buffaloes could not win their season finale.
Alex Wade ran for 94 yards and a touchdown and William Runyan caught five passes for 124 yards and a score for Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman, who ends the season at 3-6.
HAAP 44, Watseka 19
WATSEKA — The Cornjerkers was able to make the most of their last chance to give coach Chip Glass his first win as head coach.
Hoopeston Area/Armstrong-Potomac ends the season with a 1-8 record.
Fountain Central 47, Parke Heritage 6
VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — For the second week in a row, the Mustangs cruised past the Wolves, this time in a sectional matchup.
Eli Foxworthy passed for 170 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 42 yards and three more scores for Fountain Central, while JD Allen ran for 131 yards and a score.
The Mustangs are 6-4 and will play South Putnam on Friday.
Seeger 28, LCC 27
WEST LEBANON, Ind. — The Patriots stopped a two-point conversion late in the game to get past Lafayette Central Catholic.
Jacob Salts passed for a touchdown and Tucker Herndon ran for a score for Seeger, who is 9-1 and will play Lewis Cass on Friday in a sectional semifinal.
North Central 28, Covington 26
FARMERSBURG, Ind. — Beau Bishop passed for 159 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 43 yards and a score, but the Trojans’ season ended at the hands of the Thunderbirds.
Sully Stadler had a touchdown run and a touchdown catch and Kyven Hill had 95 yards receiving and a score for Covington, who ends the season at 5-5.
Riverton Parke 46, North Vermillion 6
CAYUGA, Ind. — Owen Hinchee passed for 170 yards and a touchdown, but the Falcons could not do much else against the Panthers.
Aden Rangel had seven catches for 113 yards for North Vermillion, who ends the season at 0-10.

Danville’s Bailey moves on
OLNEY — Danville senior Revan Bailey was the lone Viking runner to advance to sectional after an IHSA Class 2A regional.
Bailey had a time of 17 minutes, six seconds to take 25th for Danville, who was three points from advancing as a team. Bailey will go on to Mattoon for sectional action.
Stephanie Sykes led the girls team with a personal best time of 22:21.
OSF girls advance as a team
CHRISMAN — One of the Oakwood/Salt Fork girls team’s goals was completed on Saturday by taking third in an IHSA Class 1A regional and moving on to sectionals.
Callie Richardson led the Comets with a time of 18:52 to take fourth.
Armstrong-Potomac was fifth and will move on as well. Kayla Wernigk was 15th (20:39) for the Trojans. Local individuals moving on include Chrisman/Georgetown Ridge Farm’s Leah Phipps in seventh (19:34), Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin’s Natalie Thomason in eighth (20:02) and Schlarman’s Jocelyn Wear (20:58).
In the boys meet, no teams made it, but Schlarman’s Marquan Pinkston was 24th (17:16), CGRF’s Aidan Morgan was 32nd (17:32) and teammate Casen Rogers was 34th (17:37).
The teams and runners that qualified will go to Toledo for Saturday’s sectional.
Hoopeston Area boys take third
KANKAKEE — The Cornjerkers ended up third in an IHSA Class 1A regional.
Eli Hasting led Hoopeston Area with a time of 17:11, which was good for 12th and Owen Garrett was 20th (17:36). The Cornjerkers will travel to Lisle for sectional action.
