IPSWICH — Young musicians from Newburyport, Salisbury, Rowley and West Newbury will be among those performing in the Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras’ “An Afternoon of Spring Concerts” on Sunday, May 19, at the Dolan Performing Arts Center, 130 High St., Ipswich.
The 2 p.m. concert features NMYO’s Prelude String Ensemble, Overture String Ensemble, and Intermezzo Orchestra. The 4 p.m. concert features NMYO’s advanced ensembles: Wind Ensemble, Select Flute Choir, and Symphony Orchestra.
The concerts will include a mix of classical and contemporary music including works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Grainger, Mackey, Dvořák, Nishimura, and more. The concerts are free and no tickets or reservations are required.
