Manchester Essex 195, Essex Tech 192: The Hornets won a barnburner thanks to Jack Lawler’s season-best 38 points. His partner, Jake Zschau was also very solid with 35 points, while captain Jack McCavanagh had 33 to help lead the team to the high-scoring victory.
North Reading 145, Rockport 134: The Vikings lost a close one at Hillview Golf Course despite Sam Kesterson’s 28 points. Nolan Bace added 24, Ben Sperry notched 22 and both Will Carlson and Landon Parco had 21. Rockport is back in action at home against Newburyport on Thursday.

Gloucester 3, Bishop Fenwick 0: Liv Madruga, Maddy Jewell and Fiona Black all found the back of the cage to power the Fishermen (3-2) to victory on Monday afternoon. Assists went to Black and Emma Carrapichosa.
Manchester Essex 1, Newburyport 1: The Hornets (3-1-1) battled to a draw behind Kiernan Day’s goal off an assist from Abby Kent. Ciara Geraghty had Newburyport’s lone goal off a stroke.
North Reading 5, Rockport 0: The Vikings fell to an extremely talented Hornets squad on Monday afternoon.
GIRLS SOCCER
Gloucester 0, Swampscott 0: The Fishermen (1-2-1) battled to a scoreless draw thanks to a shutout in net from keeper Jess Harvey. Eve Liacos had a strong game at center mid, winning the ball with regularity and distributing it well. Maggie Deckert “did awesome at striker”, according to coach Katina Tibbetts, “hanging tough playing through a rough ankle injury and still being a rock on defense.”
Rockport 1, Pentucket 1: About 15 minutes into the second half, midfielder Sunny Gallagher sent a ball through to forward Zoey Parker who lofted a shot over the keeper’s head to put the Vikings (2-3-1) up 1-0. Pentucket ultimately knotted things up down the stretch to finalize the draw. The Vikings turned in a strong game defensively overall, with keeper Allie George playing very well in net.

Swampscott 3, Gloucester 0: The Fishermen (1-3-1) were shut out on the road Monday afternoon against their NEC rivals.
North Reading 8, Manchester Essex 2: The Hornets (4-2) fell to a tough, undefeated North Reading team despite goals from Sammy Bothwell and Luke Renzi.
