Minnesota voters turnout for historic primary election
Even barely halfway through the day, it was clear this primary election was going to be bigger than in years past.
“We’ve almost reached 10% of the (Waterville) population,” Melinda Scholljegerdes said, at about noon. “Typical (turnout) is about 10% for a primary, so us reaching that now was really good.”
Scholljegerdes is the head election judge in Waterville. That means that it’s her job to make sure everything is running smoothly and that there aren’t any incidents at the polling location.

Fair election concerns raised at county board meeting
MANKATO — While voters were casting ballots Tuesday morning, several residents also addressed election concerns during the Blue Earth County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting at the Historic Courthouse.
The comments came during the public comment portion of the board’s regularly scheduled meeting, and many speakers asked the board to consider signing a circulating online pledge protecting the freedom to vote for all.
Mary Kramer, a retiring Minnesota State University professor, asked commissioners to publicly explain how the county would protect voters from intimidation, protect ballots and address election misinformation.
