Each year the Creative Arts Guild’s annual Festival includes great live entertainment.
Live music performances start Friday night, Sept. 20, during the Festival 2024 Preview Party + Taste of Dalton (tickets available at https://bit.ly/F24PreviewParty). Kukuly and the Fuego will play live, vintage world jazz while Preview Party guests enjoy art in the Indoor Patron Exhibit and Outdoor Artist Market and sample treats served by favorite local restaurants.
On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22 (free admission), Festival will feature local and regional musicians at the performance tent on the Guild campus. Performing on Sept. 21 are the Rome Area Flute Ensemble, Tres Winn, Joe Vidalez, the Mountain City Mavericks, Nina Ricci and the Zech Dallas Band. Performing on Sept. 22 are Nick Stuard, Alta Empreza, Hannah Goldstein, Low Down Revival and Doc Marten’s Flannel Review.
Throughout the two days at colorful tents in the Get to Know Your Guild Garden children and adults can enjoy a variety of live performances representing the Guild’s core art disciplines, visual arts, music, dance and culinary arts, plus examples of many of the Guild’s programs and partnerships. The performances invite attendees to experience and understand more about these distinct expressive art modalities and offerings.
Performers on Sept. 21 are Anna Faith with Music Play; ACT II with a scene from its recent show “Matilda”; Ballet Dalton performing dance selections from “The Snow Queen,” the Guild Dance Department’s annual winter ballet; Kofi Mawuko, an African drummer; Brien Engel on glass harp; and others.
On Sept. 22 artist Melissa Herz will demonstrate painting with alcohol inks. Mawuko will return, the Ensemble de Mexico will present Mexican folk dancing, and there will be other performers.
