FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Ashlyn Riley scored a game-high 27 points and Lincoln absorbed a late Petersburg run to win 53-50 at East Fairmont on Friday and end the Vikings’ five-game winning streak.
Petersburg (7-5) trailed 47-38 entering the fourth quarter but held Lincoln (6-5) to just six points in the decider, but the Vikings missed all six of their free throws in the final stanza to fall.
Petersburg was just 9 for 18 from the free-throw line for the game. Lincoln made 9 of 11 attempts.
Sam Colaw ended in double figures for Petersburg with 13 points, followed by Addison Kitzmiller and Miley Tingler with nine points each, Abby Alt with eight and Nellie Whetzel with seven.
Alt and Kitmiller made two 3-pointers apiece. Riley made both of Lincoln’s.
Petersburg faces Mountain Mission from Grundy, Virginia, today at East Fairmont.
