NEWTON — Gale Library will celebrate 50 years of service with Library Assistant Betty Standing.
Betty has been with the Gale Library since 1975. During this time, she has assisted many patrons and made many friends. She has a wealth of historical town knowledge and is always ready to help you find your next book.
Stop by to share this milestone with Betty from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Gale Library, 16 S. Main St. Say hello, have some cake, and reminisce about your visits to the library, even if it has been a while since your last visit. Betty will be happy to see you.
Save the date! The Gale Library Summer Reading Program begins on Saturday, June 28. Sign-ups and logging materials for all ages (youth and adults) will be available starting that day. Youth of all ages can also come between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to make a variety of paper games.

Shredding fundraiser
PLAISTOW — Friends of the Plaistow Library will host a Paper Shredding Fundraiser on from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 28 at Plaistow Public Library, 85 Main St.
All material will be shredded on site by a professional data shredding company while you wait.
The cost is $10 per standard size copy paper or banker box and $25 for three boxes. Cash or check only, please.
Vendors wanted for local market
EAST KINGSTON — The East Kingston Library is recruiting vendors to participate in the East Kingston Farmers’ Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, and Sunday, Sept. 14.
Vendors of all kinds are welcome. Spaces are free to East Kingston residents and $10 for non-residents. All monies will be donated directly to the Library to help with its annual programming.

Vacation Bible camp for kids
ATKINSON — Atkinson Congregational Church will hold Vacation Bible Camp from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 23-26. The theme – “What a Mess!” – will not only highlight the fun of being messy but also how Jesus deals with us when life gets messy.
In addition to children ages 4-12, potty-trained 3-year-olds are welcome.
VBC will take place across the Atkinson Congregational Church campus at 101 Main St., including Tuthill House, Lovejoy Hall, and outside on church grounds, weather permitting.
The cost is $20 per child; $40 max per family. Payment is requested by the first day of VBC, June 23. Financial assistance is available. To register, visit www.atkinsoncc.org.
Summer concert series resumes
HAMPSTEAD — Hampstead Cable Television presents their annual summer concert series at Meetinghouse Park.
The series kicks off with a performance by the Timberlane Community Band on July 1.
Other upcoming performances include: Time Bandits (July 8), The Redneck Castaway Band (July 15), Haggard and Cashed (July 22), Tru Diamond (July 29), MARK209 (Aug. 5), Rick Anthony (Aug. 12), Studio Two (Aug. 19), Martin and Kelly Band (Aug. 26).
All shows are from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meetinghouse Park, located behind Town Hall, 11 Main St.
