Lewiston Fire Company No. 2 will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and basket auction this Wednesday to help support two firefighters that lost everything.
On July 22, Joy Printup and Mike Swanson lost their home in a house fire on the 1800 block of Upper Mountain Road on the Tuscarora Reservation, destroying the entire building. Since then, they received tons of donations from the community like clothes, home furnishings, and money to help them get back on their feet.
“When something happens to your family, you try to help them,” said Patrick Guthrie, one of the benefit organizers.
The benefit will go on from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the firehouse at 1705 Saunders Settlement Rd. Spaghetti dinners will cost $13 and extras like meatballs, dessert, and beverages are $1 each, with all proceeds going towards Printup and Swanson.
A Gofundme was also set up to help raise funds for the two of them, which has raised $7,575 as of Monday afternoon. The GoFundMe can be found at https://gofund.me/5db354992.
