MANKATO — A longtime Mankato affordable housing project is now complete, Cohen-Esrey Development Group has announced.
Lewis Lofts, at 209 Dewey Lane, brings 64 reasonably priced and high-quality apartment units to residents 55 and older, according to a news release.
Lewis Lofts joins Sinclair Flats, another affordable housing development located in the same area that was completed in 2023.
Rent at Lewis Lofts starts as low as $475 per month. The four-story $17.5 million project offers one- and two-bedroom units, energy-efficient appliances and in-unit washers and dryers.
Amenities in the building include a fitness center, parcel lockers, a pet-wash station, community room, raised garden beds and an elevator.
The project was financed through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Housing Infrastructure Bonds provided by the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. The city of Mankato and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development also provided additional support.
Lewis Lofts welcomed its first residents in April 2025.
