Over the past several weeks, All Creatures Veterinary Hospital in Salem organized a community fundraiser to purchase pet oxygen mask kits from MVMA charities, to distribute to local fire departments. Our original goal was to raise enough money to provide 10 kits, but thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised $7,500, allowing us to purchase and distribute a total of 60 pet oxygen mask kits.
We’ve already delivered kits to the Lynn, Salem and Peabody fire departments, with additional deliveries planned in the coming weeks. These specialized masks help firefighters provide oxygen to pets rescued from house fires and other smoke-related emergencies, and they are often not included in standard firefighting equipment.
The response from the community has been truly overwhelming, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and helped spread the word. It’s been inspiring to see so many people come together to support a cause that will help save the lives of family pets throughout our local communities.
