TILTON — The Danville Post 210 Senior baseball team had a tough time getting offense for most of Tuesday’s game against Crawfordsville’s Byron Cox Post 210.
But the Speakers scored two runs in the fifth and was able to hold on to a 2-1 win over Crawfordsville.
In the fifth, Zach Russel started with a single and advanced to second when Easton Barney got hit by a pitch A passed ball advanced both runners and after Matt Darling grounded out, Russell would score on a wild pitch and Barney would score on a sacrifice fly by Jordan Johnson for the winning run.
Pedro Rangel IV got the win, scattering seven hits and getting seven strikeouts, while Cruz Dubois and Cole Miller each had two hits.
The Speakers are 6-1-1 and will start play at the John Hayes Best of the Midwest Tournament in Terre Haute, Ind. on Thursday against West Terre Haute
