POTOMAC PARK — Lefty’s came from behind to knock off Westernport, 9-6, in a Mountain League Senior Division game on Wednesday at Memorial Field.
Tyson Ramsey notched the go-ahead knock on a single in the fifth. Lefty’s trailed 6-5 before a three-run fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth.
Hunter Shambaugh closed it out tossing two scoreless frames to finish, fanning three, and Max Fradiska was the winning arm allowing no earned runs in 2 2/3 innings of middle relief.
Lefty’s’ Landan Raley was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Fradiska went 2 for 3 with two ribbies, and Ramsey ended 2 for 3 with two runs scores.
Reid Robison had three runs batted in for Westernport, and Daniel Swindle went 2 for 3 and scored twice.
Bradley Ziler was the losing pitcher, tossing the first five innings.
Lefty’s (2-0) hosts Growden at Holler Field on Friday at 6 p.m.
Westernport (0-2) heads to Grantsville Park to face Northern on Friday at 7 p.m.
Mtn. Laurel MC 9, Northern 9
GRANTSVILLE — Mountain Laurel Medical Center started fast and Northern finished strong in a tied Senior Division game Wednesday at Grantsville Park.
Mountain Laurel MC jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three-and-a-half frames. Northern responded with a five-spot in the bottom of the third and scored four of the night’s final five runs.
Brady Spotts belted a two-run homer for Mountain Laurel, Jake Graham was 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, Jacob Welch doubled and scored three times, and Lucas Lantz went 2 for 3.
Lantz pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out five.
Northern scored nine runs on just two hits, benefitting from 14 Mountain Laurel walks and six errors.
Northern’s Noah Yoder doubled, and Cameron Spiker had two RBIs.
Northern (0-1-1) welcomes Westernport to Grantsville Park on Friday at 7 p.m.
Mountain Laurel Medical Center (0-2-1) takes on Northern at Grantsville Park on Monday at 7 p.m.
Junior Division
Casselman Valley 4, Rotary 3
POTOMAC PARK — Casselman Valley scored four in the first inning, and that was enough to edge Cumberland Rotary in a Junior Division battle on Wednesday at Hamilton Field.
Mason Brown and Sawyer Hardy drove in runs in the first and Landon Mull doubled.
Teddy Baer and Riley Bittner combined to strike out 10 on the mound. Baer fanned eight and allowed two runs on five hits in four innings to get the win, and Bittner earned the save, giving up a run on three hits in three frames.
Mull, Baer and Jase Dawson had two-hit games. Rotary’s Becket Robb went 3 for 3, and Kellen McKenzie doubled.
Blake Davis pitched well in defeat, allowing four runs (two earned) on 11 hits in six innings.
Rotary (1-3) hosts the Cresaptown Eagles at Hamilton Field on Monday at 6 p.m.
Casselman Valley (2-1) welcomes Westmar Builder to Salisbury, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Bedford 16, Hampshire 8
POTOMAC PARK — Kaalan Wilt, Rhys Altman and Gavin Wagoner tallied three RBIs apiece to power Bedford to a win of Hampshire in Junior Division action on Wednesday at Holler Field.
Bedford racked up 16 hits. Wilt went 3 for 4, and Altman, Wagoner, Mason Bullington and Lane Wakefield had two hits apiece.
Cameron Feight and Graham Paxton doubled. Brantley Elliott was the winning arm.
Hampshire’s Bentley Mynhier tallied three runs batted in, and Corbin See doubled. Jacob Hite was the losing arm.
Hampshire (1-2) takes on the Travel Mug Sluggers at Hamilton Field on Friday at 6 p.m.
Bedford (1-1) is at Amoroso’s in Westernport on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
