Traverse City led 6-1 after five innings, erupting for six runs in the fifth.
Cade Collins hit his fourth home run in eight games to account for TC’s scoring in a three-run eighth.
Jacob Kucharczyk went 3-for-5 with two doubles, and RBI, two runs and a walk, while Zach Kucharczyk also filled the stat sheet with a 3-for-4 night that included an RBI, two runs, walk, steal and hit by pitch.
Jake Ickes allowed three earned runs in 6.2 frames, striking out five and scattering eight hits. Drew Ferguson tossed the final 2.1 innings, striking out two and giving up one earned run to pick up his first save of the season.
Ethan Guerra, Mason Pilarski and Noah Gerrick also had hits for TC.
Traverse City (8-2) remains 1.5 games ahead of second-place Royal Oak (7-4) in the Great Lakes East. The Spitters host Royal for two games Thursday and Friday, then bring in Kalamazoo for a weekend two-game set before a day off Monday.
