A Crossville woman who witnesses said displayed a knife during a domestic violence situation then struggled with police to avoid being taken into custody.
Ashlen Starr Roysdon, 28, Savannah Lane, is charged with aggravated domestic assault and resisting arrest.
The charges stem from an incident alleged on May 26 in the 100 block of Savannah Lane, according to Crossville Police Lt. Dustin Lester’s report.
Roysdon is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Thursday, June 5. She is represented by the Public Defender’s Office.
On May 26 around 7 p.m., police were called to a residence on a report of a woman physical domestic situation and arrived to find Roysdon at the front porch and a woman identified as her mother-in-law in the parking lot.
The victim told police Roysdon started throwing glass at her and when told a call to 911 was being made, allegedly approached her with knife in hand. A third person stepped in, but not before the victim was struck several times, the report said.
Mptl. Shade Foster attempted to keep the suspect under control, according to Lester’s report, resulting into a scuffle while officers tried to handcuff the suspect. They stated Roysdon continued to resist being taken into custody and had to be carried to the patrol car.
The report was released Monday of this week.
At the time the report was written, no bond had been set for Roysdon. She made her first appearance in General Sessions Court June 2 and the case was continued to Thursday with only action taken was the appointment of an attorney.
