WALTON — Music on the Delaware’s next Coffeehouse at the Theatre will feature Otsego County jazz musicians performing as the Kildeer Trio. The free concert will take place in the Andrea Retz Paternoster room of the Walton Theatre at 30 Gardiner Place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11.
According to a media release, Killdeer Trio is a genre-defying band co-led by guitarist Wyatt Ambrose, bassist Evan Jagels and drummer Sebastian Green. Their music is original, and features singable melodies, engaging group improvisations and deep grooves. The trio blends their diverse musical interests into a cohesive sound that is accessible to all listeners. Their debut single “Converging Divergence” released on all major streaming platforms in January 2023.
Jagels and Ambrose both teach at Hartwick College and all three have had considerable experience performing diverse music with a wide range of music colleagues.
Jagels is described as a versatile electric and acoustic bassist and has performed with artists such as Jerry Weldon, John Stowell, Arlen Roth, and Martin Bisi.
Ambrose is a guitarist, composer, and educator based in central New York. He has worked with a variety of artists including GULES, Eric Finland (Eric Krasno), and Adam Ippolito (John Lennon).
Green has recorded, performed and toured with a variety of indie artists throughout the United States and beyond and is reported to be equally at home in rock, punk, jazz, experimental and improvised music styles.
Coffeehouse concerts are presented monthly on the third Sunday and include desserts with coffee and tea. Although free, donations are accepted.
The program may also be viewed at home through Zoom.
