KEYSER, W.Va. — Top-seeded Keyser took care of business in the Class AA, Region II playoff opener with a 66-23 win over No. 8 Berkeley Springs on Friday.
Austyn Healy hit four 3-pointers and scored 12 points for the Golden Tornado (18-4).
Autumn Kerchner led Keyser with 13 points across the first three quarters.
Maddie Close hit three triples, scoring a team-high nine points for Berkeley Springs.
The Golden Tornado host No. 4 Lincoln in the co-region final on Thursday seeking back-to-back trips to the state tournament.
Petersburg 55, Moorefield 41
PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Petersburg opened the Class AA, Region II playoffs with a win over Moorefield on Friday.
The No. 4 seed Vikings (11-11) were led by Addison Kitzmiller with 12 points followed by Miley Tingler’s 11.
Kerigan Bergdall led the No. 5 seed Yellow Jackets (7-12) with 14 points, scoring 10 after halftime.
Korbin Keplinger finished with 11 points across the final three quarters.
Moorefield’s season comes to an end while Petersburg advances to the Region II co-final on Wednesday at top-seed Philip Barbour (13-8).
With a win, the Vikings would clinch a fifth consecutive trip to the state tournament.
Hampshire 66, Robert C. Byrd 30
ROMNEY, W.Va. — Della Knight’s game-high 25 points led No. 3 seed Hampshire to a playoff win over No. 6 seed Robert C. Byrd in the Class AAA, Region II first round on Friday.
Knight scored 13 points in the first quarter and had 20 in the first half for the Trojans (12-11).
Bri Cosner finished with 14 points, all across the second and third quarters.
Kendall Sturn led the Eagles with 11 points.
Hampshire will travel to No. 2 Lewis County for the co-region final on Thursday, seeking a return to Charleston for the third time since 2021.
