MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Madi Stone singled with two outs in the seventh to plate the walk-off run in Morgantown’s 5-4 win over Keyser in a state tournament tune-up game.
Keyser (23-6) will be the No. 5 seed in the Class AAA tourney, beginning its run against No. 4 Point Pleasant (25-8) on Tuesday at approximately 12 p.m. at Little Creek Park in South Charleston, West Virginia.
The Golden Tornado tied Morgantown at 4 in the seventh inning when Bibs Felton crossed on a wild pitch.
Morgantown’s Madison Wisman, who pitched the first four innings before re-entering in the seventh, was tabbed with a blown save and was the winning pitcher. She allowed a run on three hits in five innings.
Felton led Keyser’s offense going 2 for 3 with two runs, and Suzy Cosenza and Leah Foutz singled twice each.
Sophie Lambka allowed two unearned runs in 3 2/3 innings of relief for the Tornado and took the loss.
Wisman, Hayley Street and Grace Robison doubled for the Mohigans.
