PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Bibs Felton reached base three times for No. 4 Keyser, leading the Golden Tornado (14-7) to a 9-2 win at Petersburg on Thursday.
Felton doubled in the seventh, drew a bases loaded walk in the fifth and hit a two-run home run in the third that evened the score at 2.
Felton’s three RBIs led Keyser while tying Ivy Bromhal, Suzy Cosenza and Brianna O’Reilly with two hits a piece.
Brielle Root led the Tornado going 3 for 5 with three singles.
Leighton Johnson went the distance, allowing two runs off five hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.
Ella Chew led the Vikings (17-9) with two hits, two RBIs and a walk.
Keyser hosts North Marion for a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
Petersburg’s regular season came to an end on Thursday and awaits the start of sectionals next week.
Fort Hill 12, Smithsburg 4
SMITHSBURG — Fort Hill combined for 15 hits and had six players record at least two in Thursday’s win at Smithsburg.
Brynnan Wigger led the Sentinels (5-12) with three hits including a double.
Tatum Bishop, Rory Martz, Haley Metz, Paetyn Davis and Leighton Thomas each recorded two hits.
Metz and Summer Welsh led Fort Hill with three RBIs a piece.
Metz pitched a complete game, allowing three earned runs off nine hits and five walks with four strikeouts.
The Sentinels end the regular season at St. James on Friday.
