KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser and Mountain Ridge combined for 25 runs and 22 hits, but the Golden Tornado (2-3) prevailed, winning 17-9 on Thursday.
Bibs Felton went 4 for 5 with three RBI and two stolen bases.
Felton hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third.
Ivy Bromhal went 3 for 5 while Brielle Root added a pair of hits.
Sophie Rounds led the Miners (1-5) going 3 for 4 while Jaianna Wickline added a pair of hits.
Keyser outhit Mountain Ridge 12-10.
The Golden Tornado host Hampshire (1-5) on Friday followed by Tucker County on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Miners are at Hampshire on Monday at 5 p.m.
No. 5 Moorefield 9, Strasburg 1
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — No. 5 Moorefield capitalized off six Strasburg errors in a five-inning win on Thursday.
The Yellow Jackets scored four of its nine runs off errors.
Annie Barr earned the win in five innings, allowing five hits, one unearned run and a walk with three strikeouts.
Emmy Crites led Moorefield with two hits and two RBI.
The Yellow Jackets (4-5) plays a doubleheader on the road against Hedgesville and Jefferson on Friday.
Somerset 6, No. 4 Fort Hill 3
CUMBERLAND — Somerset scored three runs in the third and seventh innings, and that was enough for a win at No. 4 Fort Hill on Thursday.
Brooklyn Thomas went the distance for Somerset, allowing six hits, two earned runs and five walks with five strikeouts.
MaeLeigh Plummer threw six innings for the Sentinels (2-4), allowing six hits, two earned runs and four walks with four strikeouts.
Fort Hill plays No. 2 Allegany on Friday before hosting Mountain Ridge on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Pendleton County 9, Petersburg 1
PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Baylee Beachler’s six innings of one-run ball led Pendleton County over Petersburg on Thursday.
Beachler allowed three hits, one run and no walks while striking out seven.
She also hit a solo home run in the third inning that made the score 3-0.
Olivia Kimble took the loss in six innings, allowing six hits, four earned runs and four walks with six strikeouts for the Vikings (4-4).
Petersburg plays at East Hardy (1-4) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
